Effect of crude protein levels in diets on egg production and hatchability of laying Guinea fowls

A study was carried out at the Experimental farm in Long Hoa commune, Binh Thuy district, Can Tho City on laying Guinea fowls to evaluate the effects of different crude protein levels in diets on reproductive performances. The trial was done on one hundred and fifty Guinea fowls at twenty- one weeks of age. It was a completely randomized design with 5 treatments corresponding with five diets contained 16; 17.5; 19; 20.5 and 22% CP with ME content of 11,7MJ ME/kgDM and three replications. The experimental period lasted 20 weeks. The results of the showed that laying Guinea fowls from 21 to 42 weeks of age fed the diet of 19.0% crude protein had the highest egg productivity, better hatchability, lower feed consumption and gave higher profits of 10 eggs.
