the world in several fields”. Accordingly, the task-
oriented strategies of the University are identified as
follows:
1. Developing Can Tho University in the direction
of an autonomous university, strongly renovating the
governance and management system applying information
and digital technology.

2. Continuing developing and diversifying programs,
qualifications and forms of training, meeting the requirements of the
learners and the demands of the labor market; shifting strongly from
quantity to quality in education, approaching international standards and
promoting online and digital training.
3. Continuing to expand cooperation with domestic organizations, localities, and
business sector aiming at providing human resources, scientific research, technology
transfer, start-up, and innovation.
4. Promoting the strength of international relations, raising the University’s contributions
to the educational, socio-economic development of the Mekong Delta and the country, and
adequately integrating into the international education community.
5. Upgrading facilities to meet the requirements of the “smart” trends in training and
research, facilitating the best learning conditions and environment for learners.
6. Enhancing scientific research capacities together with increasing national and
international high quality publications; developing science and technology having
intellectual and creative content, especially, in high-tech agriculture and industry.
7. Completing financial autonomy and step by step promoting the activities to generate
revenues for the development of the University.
The over-the-past achievements will be a solid foundation for Can Tho University to
seize opportunities, overcome challenges and move forward. In the next five years, Can
Tho University is promised to make remarkable changes to gain momentum for faster
development in the new stage.
