Probiotics include some useful bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis; Bacillus licheniformis; Bacillus pumilus; Lactobacilus sp.; Nitrosomonas sp.; Nitrobacter sp. that improve water quality parameters for shrimp culture. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of 3 different types of commercial probiotics (Zimovac, DeoCare, Ecomarine) on growth, survival rate, and quality of white leg shrimp larvae. An experiment with three replicates was conducted with different treatments of probiotics including controls (without probiotics). The experiment was conducted in 100-L tanks holding 15,000 larvae (150 larvae/L), and aerated continuously. Brackish water of 30 ppt was used for the experiment. Probiotics were added to the water at the beginning of the Nauplius 3 (N3) stage, after the larvae had transformed to Zoea1 (Z1). Survival rate and length were evaluated at Z3, Mysis 3 (M3) and Postlarve (PL12) of development stage and, in addition, the length of time taken to reach the M1 and PL1 development stages was investigated. At the end of experiment, formalin and salinity shocks were used to test the quality of PL12. At Zoea 3 stage, there was no significant difference in survival rate between the control and probiotic treatments, but the larvae in the control treatment were significantly longer
