The small-scale aquaculture in tanks is interesting and developing in rural of Mekong Delta. Farmers were utilizing small area for conducting the small-scale aquaculture to increase their family income. This study was carried out from March to December 2013 in An Giang, Kien Giang provinces and Can Tho city. About 211 households culturing swamp ell, frog, and soft shell turtle in the tanks were interviewed to evaluate technical and financial aspects of the farming systems and to identify potential and challenges of the farming systems. The results showed that the areas of the tank of three models are small. The average area of the tanks for culturing swamp ell, frog, and soft shell turtle are respectively 33.4, 27.0 and 32.7 m2. After 251 days, 87.9 days and 663 days for culture, swamp ell, frog, and soft shell were harvested with average yield of 175, 262 and 177 kg/10m2/crop, respectively. With production cost of 6.17; 6.40 and 7.22 million VND/10m2/crop, gross income of 20.4, 8.62 and 44.0 million VND/10m2/crop, net incomes of swamp ell, frog, and soft shell turtle farming systems were rather high of 14.19, 2.22 and 36.7 million VND/10m2/crop, respectively. However, the culture systems also have major challenges, especially lack of fund, technology.
