Food security is always an important issue in Viet Nam and many other countries in the world. Information about rice area as well as rice growth stages and yield is very important for all levels of management. Especially in the current situation, the land area can cultivate rice increasingly narrow, especially affected by the manifestation of climate change. Calculating the rice yield will help managers make the right decision in agricultural production in the direction of stability and sustainability. The objective of this study was to evaluate the possibility of using Sentinel-1 data to monitor the current status of rice growth stages, rice extent in Vinh Long province, based on the analysis of changes in the back scattered properties of the rice growth the results showed that the rice area in Vinh Long province and this results showed that in the Winter-Spring season 2015-2016, the avergate yield is about 7,09 tons/ha for the entire province. This estimated results was compared to the provincial statistical data as well as household interview data with the agreement 94% and 88% respectively. The study results showed that the possibility of using radar remote sensing data in combination with Oryza2000 model to estimate rice yield can be used with hight reliability. The above results can be seen as a scientific-based  to apply remote sensing products in monitoring and policy making of rice production area more efficiency
