ABSTRACT

Over forty years have passed, althouth there are many different opinions but Tet Mau Than 1968 event was forever engraved in national history as the immortal song about aheroic nation. Tet Mau Than 1968 was made landmark, forcing the U.S. to scale war, ending the destructive war to the North, gradual withdrawal of U.S. troops returning home, to complete failure of ?local wars?. From there, create favorable conditions for us in continuing  to win the U.S. in the next stage.

Hơn bốn mươi năm trôi qua, mặc dù còn tồn tại nhiều ý kiến đánh giá khác nhau nhưng sự kiện Tết Mậu Thân 1968 vẫn mãi mãi khắc sâu trong lịch sử dân tộc như một bản trường ca bất tử về một dân tộc anh hùng. Tết Mậu Thân 1968 đã tạo bước ngoặt quyết định, buộc Mỹ xuống thang chiến tranh, chấm dứt chiến tranh phá hoại miền Bắc, rút dần quân Mỹ về nước, chịu thất bại hoàn toàn trong ?chiến tranh cục bộ?. Từ đó, tạo điều kiện thuận lợi để ta tiếp tục thắng Mỹ trong giai đoạn tiếp theo.
