Thermophilic lactic acid bacteria (TLAB) are very useful for fish and skin care in prevention of diseases. Isolation and selection of TLAB in the traditional fermented foods and starch wastes ect. were carried out. The isolates were stored with glycerol in freezer at -80oC prior testing and using in the different purposes.

In aquaculture. the biomass production on Enterococcus hirae by 3 factorial experimental design was carried out. The results shown that the optimum dried biomass 0.85 g/L was obtained in supplements: succrose 11%, (NH4)2SO4 0.48% and KH2PO4 0.25%. The dried biomass can store for 6 months in which stills at 108 CFU/g. The dried biomass was revification in warm water at 40oC for 30 minutes with the ratio of dried biomass/warm water 1/10 as solution. The randomized complete experimental design for nursing of 30 Pangasianodon hypophthalmus fingerlings/net was used during 28 days, without solution of E. hirae (control), 30 mL solution of E. hirae (treatment No2), 50 mL solution of E. hirae (treatment No3) supplementation/kg Aquaxcel-40N of mixed feed. The result shown that the survival ratio was increased 38% (No3 treatment = 76.6%)) significant different in comparison with control (55.5%), the medium weight gain was also increased 13% (treatment No3), 7.8% (treatment No2), significant different in comparison with control. The supplementing E. hirae on feed for nursing of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus fingerlings for increasing the survival ratio and growing faster in order to reach the standard on fish breeding.

Using TLAB for survey on the inhibited capacity of the development of Propionibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, causing infections in acne patients topical corticosteroids were carried out.  In 37 LAB isolates from fermented rice washing waste and tofu waste, there are 24 LAB isolates inhibited of surinfection bacteria: 11 LAB isolates inhibited S. aureus with the length of free-zone from 2-4 mm (low), 7 isolates inhibited S. epidermidis with the length of free-zone from 3-9 mm (average) and 24 isolates inhibited P. acnes with the length of free-zone from 7-17 mm (high). There are 5 isolates (VG1, VG26, VG26', TH4 and TH6) inhibited all of three surinfection bacteria. The VG26 and TH6 isolates were identified as Lactocbacillus fermentum by biomolecular analysis method. The application TLAB for skin care shows great promise.
