Tạp chí: Modern ideologies in economics and governance & the application for Vietnam after joing AEC and TPP
This research aims to study the effects of distance on international toursist inflow in ASEAN nations. Based on the study of Dow and Karanuratna (2006), we hypothesize that cultural distance, political distance and geographical distance have negative effects on tourist flow to ASEAN. The data from Tourism Statistic Offices of five countries including Viet Nam, Thailand, Singapore, Philipines and Malaysia is ultilized to test the proposed hypotheses. OLS regressions indicate that political distance and geographical distance are negatively associated with international toursit inflow; meanwhile cultural distance is positively associated with that.
