CARS framework (Swales, 1990), is broken down into steps (submoves) in research article introductions in empirical research articles published in 2011 in two leading linguistics journals in Viet Nam. Results obtained from a systematic genre-based analysis of a modest corpus of 14 RAIs indicate that there is a stark difference between the way this move is realized as constituent steps by Vietnamese authors compared to the similar practice employed in academically prestigious English-medium journals as established in the literature. It is hoped that the preliminary insights from this study will be of use to novice writers, other researchers and practitioners engaged in the practice and teaching of academic writing in Viet Nam. TóM TắT Bài viết này trình bày kết quả một nghiên cứu nhỏ, mang tính khám phá xem hành động tu từ thiết lập lãnh địa, hành động tu từ đầu tiên trong mô hình CARS của Swales (1990), được hiện thực hóa thành các bước thể hiện như thế nào trong phần dẫn nhập của 14 bài báo nghiên cứu thường nghiệm chọn ra từ các số xuất bản năm 2011 của hai tạp chí ngôn ngữ lớn của Việt Nam là Ngôn ngữ và Ngôn ngữ và Đời sống bằng phương pháp phân tích thể loại ESP. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy sự khác biệt lớn trong các bước thể hiện hành động tu từ này của các tác giả nghiên cứu là người Việt so với cách thức thường được sử dụng trong các tạp chí quốc tế bằng tiếng Anh có giá trị học thuật cao. Chúng tôi hy vọng những kết quả ban đầu này sẽ được sử dụng bởi những nhà nghiên cứu chưa có nhiều kinh nghiệm xuất bản nghiên cứu, những nhà nghiên cứu khác, và những người làm công tác giảng dạy môn Viết học thuật ở Việt Nam. |
