A possible reason may be that necessary theoretical frameworks for such studies are not found by novice researchers, which deters them from conducting one. This article first traces the origin and development of contrastive rhetoric, an established field of study interested in contrasting languages at the discourse level. It is recommended that novice researchers undertaking discourse-level contrastive studies in Vietnam should utilize important tenets in this area of inquiry as theoretical resources for their research. However, it is also pointed out that these important theoretical insights offered by the field of contrastive rhetoric are not sufficient for all contrastive studies at the discourse level. Therefore, in their particular studies, researchers may need complementary theoretical models from other areas of inquiry as well. TÓM TẮT Trong số nhiều nghiên cứu đối chiếu ngôn ngữ đã được thực hiện ở Việt Nam, đề tài đối chiếu ngôn ngữ ở cấp độ diễn ngôn chiếm số lượng khá khiêm tốn. Một lý do có thể có cho hiện trạng này là các nhà nghiên cứu trẻ chưa tìm được những mô hình lý thuyết cần thiết để thực hiện một nghiên cứu như vậy. Trong bài viết này, chúng tôi trình bày khái quát về tu từ đối chiếu, một lĩnh vực nghiên cứu đã được thiết lập và có mối quan tâm đến đối chiếu ngôn ngữ ở cấp độ diễn ngôn. Chúng tôi đề nghị các nhà nghiên cứu trẻ thực hiện các đề tài đối chiếu ngôn ngữ ở cấp độ diễn ngôn xem xét sử dụng một số cơ sở lý thuyết quan trọng của lĩnh vực tu từ đối chiếu. Tuy nhiên, chúng tôi cũng lưu ý rằng những cơ sở lý thuyết này là chưa đủ và các nhà nghiên cứu có thể cần phải bổ sung một số mô hình lý thuyết từ các lĩnh vực nghiên cứu khác nữa cho đề tài cụ thể của mình. |
