Fifteen feedstuffs for rabbit feeding including three groups as natural plants (Operculina turpethum, water spinach, Psophocarpus scandens, para grass) agricultural and industrial by-products (sweet potato vines, water spinach leaves, soybean extraction meal, soya waste) and protein and energy supplemental feeds (soybean, fish meal, feather meal, blood meal, maize, broken rice, sweet potato tuber) were investigated in Can Tho University of Vietnam. The nutritional values were assessed with three replications per feed sample. The results showed that water spinach had the lowest DM content, however, CP content was the highest as compared to the other plants. The almost essential and non-essential amino acid components of water spinach and Psophocarpus scandens were higher than those of Operculina turpethum and para grass. Sweet potato vine and water spinach leaves were the good feedstuffs with high values of CP and proportional fibers. Water spinach leaves contained the higher values of lysine, methionine and threonine (13.1, 8.26 and 11.3 g/kgDM, respectively) as compared to those of sweet potato vines. The sweet potato tuber had the highest ME value (15.3 MJ/kgDM), but the lowest CP value (39.6 g/kgDM) among energy supplemental feeds. Soybean had low values of essential amino acid and non-essential amino acid than those of fish meal, feather meal and blood meal with the exception of methionine, glutamic and arginine concentrations. The combination among feedstuffs could formulate balanced nutrient diets for both growing and reproductive rabbits.
